Call for Mural Artist Submissions

Hillsboro Arts League

Hillsboro Arts League seeks mural artists to submit design ideas and estimated budget for a 30'x15' mural. Proposals should be submitted by May 9.

The mural will be located near W. Franklin and Covington Streets, across from the Hill County Courthouse. The theme of the mural is "Welcome to Hillsboro" but that is not necessarily what it must literally say. The design can incorporate people, animals/wildlife, historical events, etc. The proposal should include: artist's contact information, mural experience, estimated cost for designing and installing the mural. Our current budget is $6,000. The mural must be installed by the end of 2025. Proposals should be submitted to [email protected].

The design will be selected by a panel of Hillsboro Arts League members and approved by the City and the building owner.

RFQ for Public Art Sculpture for Waco Fire Station #4

Creative Waco

Create an 8–12 ft tall, durable metal sculpture honoring the courage and service of Waco firefighters at the new Fire Station #4 (2601 La Salle Ave). Artist budget $62,000. Apply via PublicArtist.org by June 23 , 2025. Open to professional artists / artist led teams who reside in, and are legally authorized to work in, the United States. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrable connection to Waco or McLennan County, Texas. Installation targeted for August 2026.

Youth Chorus of Central Texas Season 2025-2026 AUDITIONS

Youth Chorus of Central Texas

The Youth Chorus of Central Texas promotes music literacy and excellence in vocal artistry through the preparation and performance of choral singing. Through YCCT, youth in Central Texas experience sequential, comprehensive choral music education within an environment that instills the values of respect, discipline, kindness, service, individual creativity and leadership.

Singers in grades 3-12 are eligible to audition for the chorus, auditions open May 6th-September 1st.

The interview / skills assessment requires no preparation; no previous experience is required. YCCT seeks singers with a keen interest in singing together with others who love to sing are who are interested in developing vocal and music literacy skills. Professional staff and collegiate interns conduct weekly rehearsals throughout the school year resulting in several public performances throughout the community. A summer camp for members is held in August.
