The Science of Spirits

Transformation Waco, the non-profit that operates the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center, is launching a brand-new event series — The Science of Spirits.

This inaugural fundraiser blends craft and curiosity: interactive spirit tasting stations paired with dishes from Waco’s own restaurants, plus a behind-the-scenes look at the science that makes it all possible. Learn how distillation, fermentation, and flavor chemistry turn raw ingredients into something extraordinary — guided by local experts and a few surprises along the way.

Enjoy premium spirits from Balcones Distilling, Goodnight Loving Vodka, Planteray Rum, WildGins Co., Suerte Tequila, and ISH London Botanical, paired with bites from Helberg Barbecue, Pignetti's, Street Dog Cafe, The Olive Branch, House Party, Harvest on 25th, Schmillen & Co. Sourdough, and Chef Rachel Solano of the STEAM Center Teaching Kitchen. 

As the founding event in our ongoing "Science of" series, Science of Spirits kicks off a new tradition of bringing Waco together around the wonder of everyday science — while directly supporting Transformation Waco’s mission to connect students and families to the resources they need to thrive.
