ARTPrenticeship

Opportunities for Young Artists. Beauty for Our City.

In the summer of 2018, Creative Waco launched ARTPrenticeship program that pairing talented high schoolers with professional artists to create public murals that beautify the city. Inspired by Cincinnati's ArtWorks, the program offers real-world experience, with students taking creative projects from concept to completion. These murals reflect Waco's history and spirit, while also equipping students with transferable skills valuable for any creative career path. You can find ARTPrenticeship’s murals on 2nd St. and Jackson Ave., Brotherwell Brewing, Waco Family Medicine's Martin Luther King Jr. Community Clinic, The Cove, TFNB Your Bank For Life's East Waco Branch, the Dr Pepper Museum, Triple Win Waco, and the Herringbone Hotel.

If you are passionate about beauty for our city, and want to invest in gifted young creatives, please consider sponsoring our apprentices! To find out more about the program, check out our past projects.

ARTPrenticeship 2024 is here!

We are excited to partner with the Cameron Park Zoo to create a mural for their new Penguin Shores exhibit. Follow along and join us on June 22nd to Make Your Mark at the community paint day! No paint experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP below!
